Celebrating Toledo Opera’s upcoming production of Verdi’s “Macbeth.”

 

Toledo Opera will collaborate with WGTE Public Broadcasting and the Sylvania Branch of the Toledo Lucas County Public Library (TLCPL) for a day-long program of live features that explore Shakespeare, opera and Toledo Opera’s production of Verdi’s “Macbeth.” Interspersed with WGTE’s classical music programming, Macbeth Day features interviews with the Opera’s creative team, performances by stars of the upcoming production, a Macbeth scene reading by Ottawa Hills High School AP students, a choral work with Shakespeare text sung  by the Woodward High School Choraliers, and conversations with TLCPL and Toledo Opera staff, and Toledo Opera Guild members.

 

Hosted by Brad Cresswell, WGTE Music Director and Haley Taylor, WGTE Radio Content Producer and On-Air Host. “Macbeth Day” special events will take place during WGTE’s 9am-11am and 1pm-3:30pm local programming. The Sylvania Branch of TLCPL, 6749 Monroe Street, Sylvania, is the site for the live broadcast segments. Macbeth Day is open to the public to observe and enjoy.
