Community Conversations

Opera has long expressed, through a complete package of story, music, and visual elements, the drama and passions associated with universal human dilemmas. Following the successful activities surrounding I Dream, we at Toledo Opera are ramping up our efforts to use the assets of opera to engage with our community in a meaningful way. Next season, we will continue our successful Community Conversations which focus on a particular human or social justice issue that we have identified as a key theme in each of the operas of our upcoming season. Each Conversation will feature discussions by a panel of community partners working constantly here in Toledo to address the issue represented in the opera. There will also be wine and song at the event. Panel moderator is Rhonda Sewell, Manager, External and Governmental Affairs at Toledo Lucas County Public Library.
