Toledo Blade: Sapphire Ball
will have romantic French theme
|
Presented by DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund
Saturday, October 28, 2006 – The Pinnacle,
Maumee
The Sapphire Ball was first held in Toledo in 1960 and now, 46
years later, proudly finds itself one of Toledo’s oldest
and most elegant annual social events. In fact, the Sapphire
Ball’s inception was in the very first year of the opera
company’s existence!
This years Ball is being presented by the DaimlerChrysler Corporation
Fund and will be held Saturday, October 28, 2006 at The Pinnacle
in Maumee. Proceeds from the Ball help provide resources necessary
to present dazzling opera productions of the highest caliber. These
funds also support Toledo Opera’s innovative educational
programs benefiting thousands of Toledo area school children each
year.
The Ball theme takes its inspiration from Toledo Opera’s
upcoming production of Romeo & Juliet which will be
presented at the Valentine Theater October 7th, 13 and 15th. A
romantic evening is indeed being planned for the Ball. The
black tie event will begin with champagne and cocktails at 7:00
PM. Guests will be seated for a romantic vocal interlude with selections
from Charles Gounod’s Romeo ‘et Juliette.
A fabulous French dinner will be served to a background of string
music. The
evening will be topped off with a live auction and dancing to the
KGB band.
Invitations will be mailed on September 15; however, you can make
a reservation now by calling the Toledo Opera at 419-255-SING (7464).
Individual tickets are $175.00 each. |
