The camp will culminate in a late afternoon performance on Friday, June 21 at the Valentine Theatre and (for Session I only) an afternoon performance on June 23 at Sauder Village. Level I will perform Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, an original setting with music by Mozart, while Level II participants will learn and perform popular opera scenes suited to their individual level of singing. Auditions, for placement in roles only, will be held at Toledo Opera on Thursday evening, May 23rd from 6-8:30 pm*. Students can prepare a short piece to sing with piano accompaniment (pianist provided by the Opera).
Tuition for the camp is $350.00. A deposit of $50.00 will secure your place in Opera Camp, with the balance due on or before June 10th. To reserve a place in Opera Camp and schedule an audition, please call Toledo Opera (419-255-7464) and ask for Loviah Aldinger or Collin Stegeman. Or, visit the Learn section of our web site at www.toledoopera.org.
*Placement in Level I or II for students who are “in between” (8-9 years old or 14-15 years old) will be at the discretion of the Camp Directors in consultation with parents.
