OPERA in the fresh air. Opera Outdoors presented by the Toledo Opera has returned. The first performance of the pop-up series was Sept. 11 on the front lawn of the Manor House at Wildwood Preserve Metropark.
This fall series is presented in partnership with Metroparks Toledo and ProMedica. Guests brought lawn chairs and blankets for the free concert. Getting front row seats were Kathryn Fell and Josie Freeman as well as Diane Rusk, Opera Guild member and Cindy Niggemeyer, Opera Guild co-president.
Toledo Opera’s five 2024-25 Resident Artists — chosen from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo, performed iconic vocal selections from classical repertoire, musical theater, and more. The resident artists are Sarah Rachel Bacani (soprano), Emily Cotten (mezzo soprano), Brady DelVecchio (tenor), Robbie Raso (baritone), and Alessandro "Alex" Rotundo (pianist).
The next Opera Outdoors event is at 6 p.m. September 25 at the Manor House.
