Toledo Opera has partnered with the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation to present a series of free community events in Hancock County this spring. The second event in the “Opera for All” series will be a free community performance of “Opera ‘Round Town” on Sunday, April 19, at 3 p.m. at the Winebrenner Theological Seminary at the University of Findlay, 950 N. Main St.

Developed in partnership with presenting sponsor iHeart Media Inc., Opera ‘Round Town expands Toledo Opera’s community outreach efforts, offering live performances at a range of community hubs across the region. The upcoming concert will feature Toledo Opera’s 2025-26 cohort of resident artists, selected from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo.

Resident artists Sarah Rachel Bacani, soprano; Danielle Casós, mexx-soprano; Brady DelVecchio, tenor; Rick Hale, baritone; and Yura Jang, pianist will perform vocal selections from the classical repertoire, along with musical theatre and other American standards.

The final event in the series will be an America 250/Veterans Community Concert at the Findlay Bandshell on May 17. Further details for this event will be announced separately. All events in the series are free and open to the public.

For Toledo Opera General Director James M. Normal, bringing Opera ‘Round Town to the region marks an exciting first. “We are thrilled to bring Opera ‘Round Town to Findlay for the very first time, made possible through the generous support of the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. This partnership allows us to share the joy and accessibility of opera with a new community, and we look forward to building lasting connection through these performances.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to our partners at the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation and to the Findlay community for the warmth and enthusiasm they’ve shown in welcoming Toledo Opera this season,” shared Leah Whitaker, Toledo Opera development officer. “It’s been especially meaningful to share live performances in the places people gather every day, and to experience the openness and engagement of audiences of all ages and backgrounds.”

“The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation is excited to continue its partnership with Toledo Opera through our Fun for All series of free community events,” said Kimberly Bash, chief community engagement officer at the Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation. “Engaging in the arts provides numerous benefits for individuals of all ages. It enhances creativity, offers a way to step out of the daily grind and reconnect with the playful, curious part of ourselves. It’s not just fun – it’s restorative. Ensuring that more local residents have access to the arts and can experience professional performances such as Opera ‘Round Town is an important part of improving the quality of life for all in Hancock County.”

The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for all in the community. Established in 1992 as the result of an estate gift from L. Dale Dorney, the community foundation has granted more than $85 million to fund projects to support the community.
