Toledo Opera will present the America 250 Veterans Concert on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Conn Weisenberger American Legion Post (2020 W. Alexis Rd., Toledo, OH 43613). Dinner will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a concert at 7:00 p.m.. The event is free and open to the public with ticket registration required. Registration can be found at: toledoopera.org.
The evening will feature a live concert, which will feature Toledo Opera’s 2025-2026 cohort of resident artists, selected from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo. Resident Artists Sarah Rachel Bacani (soprano), Danielle Casós (mezzo-soprano), Brady DelVecchio (tenor), Rick Hale (baritone), and Yura Jang (pianist) will offer a selection of patriotic and American favorites in honor of the region’s veteran community. Guests may purchase food and beverages on site, with dinner service provided by Deet’s BBQ food truck.
The concert is presented as part of Toledo Opera’s America 250 Week, presented by The Wolfe Family Foundation and the Lucas County Commissioners. The week-long series recognizes the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary through community-centered programming that highlights the people, places, and contributions of Northwest Ohio in shaping the American story.
For James M. Norman, General Director of Toledo Opera, this concert represents a meaningful intersection of artistic expression and community tribute; bringing together music, history, and service as part of the organization’s broader America 250 commemorations: “The America 250 Veterans Concert is a powerful opportunity for Toledo Opera to honor the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who have served our nation. As we approach this historic milestone, we are proud to use the power of music to celebrate our shared heritage and express our deepest gratitude to our veterans.”
“Toledo Opera’s outstanding Resident Artists will regale the concert attendees with music that forms the fabric of the American experience, everything from folk songs and patriotic numbers to everyone’s favorite songs from Disney,” shared Toledo Opera Artistic Director, Kevin Bylsma. “There’s no better way to start the celebration of America’s 250th birthday than with our Resident Artists’ passionate and patriotic performances!”
