Toledo Opera Announces Opera ‘Round Town Fall 2026 Dates

Published Wednesday, September 2, 2026

Opera ‘Round Town returns this September with weekly performances at Wildwood Preserve Metropark. The first performance will take place on the front lawn of the Manor House on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors to the Manor House. Lawn chairs and/or picnic blankets are recommended.

Developed in partnership with presenting sponsor iHeart Media, Inc., Opera ‘Round Town expands Toledo Opera’s community outreach efforts, offering live performances at a range of community hubs across the region. The upcoming fall series will feature Toledo Opera’s 2026-27 cohort of resident artists, selected from an international pool of more than 150 applicants for a one-year residency in Toledo. Resident Artists Jenna Grissom (soprano), Caroline Friend (mezzo-soprano), Jeremy Do (tenor), Timothy Krueger (baritone), and Charles Ligus (pianist) will perform iconic vocal selections from the classical repertoire, along with musical theatre and other American standards.

For Toledo Opera General Director James M. Norman, Opera ‘Round Town embodies connection and accessibility: “With Opera ‘Round Town, we’re continuing to bring the beauty, energy, and excitement of live opera directly into spaces where our community comes together; from the Metroparks to venues throughout the region. With the generous support of iHeart Media, this revitalized series continues to make opera more accessible, engaging, and meaningful while creating new opportunities for people across our community to experience the power of live performance.”

“The beautiful voices from Toledo Opera surrounded by the natural beauty of Wildwood Preserve is just a perfect combination,” said Trish Hausknecht, Manager of Community Engagement for Metroparks Toledo. “This is such an enjoyable evening. Park visitors bring their lawn chairs to the front of the Manor House, maybe a picnic basket too, and simply sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the beauty all around them.”
