About Toledo Opera

Our Story

We have a duty to our audiences and our art form to present the highest caliber productions we can, to engage up-and-coming artists who need a place to learn and grow, and to help support established regional artists who contribute to the larger cultural life of our community outside of the theater.

Mission, Vision, & Values

We are at a critical turning point in its history. In 2021, new mission, vision, and values were written and approved by our Board of Trustees. They will serve as guidance for our ongoing work to further the opera art form in the region through artistry of the highest caliber and authentic community connections.

Staff & Board

We are committed to maintaining an active and engaged board of directors whose members: guide the organization’s overall progress, promote the organization, raise funds for the organization’s maintenance and growth, and utilize internal best-practices to ensure that the board is as effective as possible and maintains its vitality through changes of membership and leadership.

Past Seasons

Toledo Opera has been producing Grand Opera since its inception in 1959. Whether it be at the Paramount Theatre, The Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle, The Masonic Auditorium, or its current home at the Valentine Theatre, Toledo Opera has been sharing this grand art form with the Toledo region for decades.
